This two-day course provides participants with the skills and information needed when something goes wrong on the river. With a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and exciting rescue scenarios, this class is useful, informative, and fun! Instruction will take place near White Otter Headquarters in Sunbeam, Idaho and is taught by ACA Swiftwater certified instructors. Participants who complete the class will receive American Canoe Association Swiftwater Rescue, Level 4 certification. Participants must be 16 or older.
A large portion of this course is taught in the river, so it is important to have a wetsuit or drysuit, layers, life jacket, helmet, appropriate footwear, whistle, and throw bag. If you do not have certain gear, you can purchase our $25/course gear package.

8:00am-5:00pm both days
Prerequisites: Must be 16 years old, in good health and fitness, possess solid swimming ability, and be comfortable swimming in cold moving current during river drills.
Course Capacity: 12 participants
Camping: $15 per participant/night at White Otter Headquarters
Gear package: $25/day - Farmer John Wetsuit, Helmet, Wetsuit booties, PFD, Whistle
